CV

To Whom It May Concern:

I am currently seeking a full time faculty position as a Graphic Design instructor. To follow is a copy of my resume for your review. I have demonstrated sound judgment, decisiveness, well-developed planning, strategic thinking, creative marketing and communication skills, as well as, a high level of performance in a variety of classroom assignments. I would welcome an opportunity for a personal interview.

My teaching philosophy has been developed through my experience as an elementary and high school art teacher and most recently, as a college Professor, in the Graphic Design department, at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division, the Art Institute of Colorado and the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. The most successful classes I have taught are those in which there is a high level of student participation. My focus is to encourage classroom participation by carefully organizing each lesson. With clear organization, students are more likely to believe they understand the framework of the class and will, therefore be willing to ask questions about sections they do not understand and engage in activities they may not have otherwise embarked on.

I am accustomed to working with the most talented and the most challenging of students. I am intuitive and can relate well to the complexities of the creative mind. I am experienced in handling multiple tasks simultaneously. These skills mirror the skills necessary to be an effective college Professor. I enjoy a challenge and work hard to attain my goals. I worked in the Promotional Products and Retail Packaging industry as the President of my own corporation for several years followed by a career in financial services.

I have expertise in Graphic Design, Digital Graphics, Web Design, Packaging Design, Fine Art, Jewelry making, Advertising, Marketing, Promotions, Business and Finance. Teaching at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division, working with decision makers for many major corporations and running my own company for almost 9 years has provided me with a frontier in which to hone my individual strengths and develop on a professional level. I am a leader, a teacher and always a student.

If you require more information at this time, I will be happy to comply upon request.

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely Yours,
Wendy Barr
